Through this strategic partnership with the Fab Foundation, a renowned leader in digital fabrication and STEM education, FAMU STR²EAM Innovation Fab Lab is expanding access to advanced manufacturing tools and technologies that are shaping the future workforce.

By integrating Science, Technology, Reading, Research, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STR²EAM), the Fab Lab aims to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem solvers, bridging the gap between education and industry.

The lab's doors will be open to the community, providing an inclusive space for individuals of all ages to explore and engage with digital fabrication technologies.

History of the Fab Lab

Chevron, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Fab Foundation, has unveiled the establishment of cutting-edge Fab Labs at FAMU’s College of Education. This facility marks a significant step towards advancing STEM education, research, and innovation in the Tallahassee communities. The lab is entitled the FAMU Chevron STR²EAM Innovation Fab Lab and is considered a Game Changer for the University, the FAMU College of Education and the Community.

The FAMU Chevron STR²EAM Innovation Fab Lab features state-of-the-art equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and electronics workstations. Students and community members will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities, including prototyping, digital design, coding, robotics, and more. By providing access to these resources, FAMU Chevron STR²EAM Innovation Fab Lab is empowering individuals to explore new ideas, collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, and drive impactful solutions to real-world challenges.

These labs have served thousands of community members.”
